The ASL is a member of the DoH's LD Task Force and the joint Healthcare Commission / Commission for Social Care Inspection's LD Improvement Board
The ASL has opened dialogues with the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (Supporting People) and the Valuing People Support Team
Each year the ASL holds a national conference and a number of other member consultative events
In partnership with the Valuing People Support Team, the ASL commissioned Paradigm to revise the REACH standards - REACH2 - defines Supported Living for people with learning disabilities. It's an extremely useful tool to help provider organisations ensure compliance with Domiciliary Care Standards and Supporting People.
