Approach

  • The ASL is a member of the DoH's LD Task Force and the joint Healthcare Commission / Commission for Social Care Inspection's LD Improvement Board
  • The ASL has opened dialogues with the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (Supporting People) and the Valuing People Support Team
  • Each year the ASL holds a national conference and a number of other member consultative events
  • In partnership with the Valuing People Support Team, the ASL commissioned Paradigm to revise the REACH standards - REACH2 - defines Supported Living for people with learning disabilities. It's an extremely useful tool to help provider organisations ensure compliance with Domiciliary Care Standards and Supporting People.
